Original early second-hand fire department G-Class, which has never been used for civil purposes to date.

TÜV and historic registration certificate (according to §23 StVZO) passed in September 2025.

General inspection (HU) valid until 09/2027 ("no defects found" undertaken by DEKRA).

Year of manufacture: 1981 / First registration: 07-1981.

Original mileage is only 29,800 km. Used solely by the fire brigade up to now.

Advance Rescue Vehicle (VRW) with ZIEGLER bodywork and Knurz-Kirsch generator with 5 kVA output.

German garage vehicle, continuously registered with the original registration document (only 2 previous owners) until autumn 2025.

The original documents still list the manufacturer as GFG "Geländefahrzeug-Gesellschaft," which was a joint venture between Daimler-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria at the time. This is one of the last vehicles to bear this manufacturer’s name in the papers; shortly after, "Daimler-Benz" became the officially listed manufacturer in the registration documents.

In 1991, a complete MATTER roll bar was installed in the vehicle (duly documented in the registration papers).

Comes with a small roof rack system for transporting long equipment.

The long-wheelbase 280 GE is the largest and most powerful model from the first G-Class production series that could be ordered ex-factory as a Mercedes G-Class during the early years.

The straight-six petrol engine M110 with 2717 cc and 115 kW/156 hp starts and runs well.

4-speed manual gearbox with differential locks.

A power take-off for operating the generator is also present.

The vehicle was last used mainly to transport a portable fire pump (TS) with suction hoses and accessories. Therefore, there are no rear seats, providing a load area similar to that of a truck.

No additional seats beyond the two front seats remain.

According to original papers, it is classified as a “3-seater” and the registration type is “Other vehicle: fire brigade advance rescue vehicle (VRW).”

Empty weight: 2360 kg.

Gross vehicle weight (originally 2900 kg) was upgraded in 1991 to 3030 kg as per documentation.

This gives the 280 GE a current payload capacity of 670 kg.

Vehicle dimensions: Length 4395 mm / Width 1700 mm / Height 2150 mm.

Tyres 205/80R16 in good condition.

Currently fitted with winter tyres bearing the snowflake symbol as required by current legislation (DOT 2018).

Although the G does not have a towbar, the necessary main traverse is installed. It is not possible to state the retrofitting/towing capacity since the corresponding fields in the original registration document are marked as “not applicable.”

According to the last owner (verbal report), the Mercedes is accident-free; however, there is no written proof, so this is passed on strictly as an oral history to the buyer.

The 280 GE was recently driven a long distance on the motorway to us, which it completed without any issues.

A new battery has just been installed.
