The Franzoi TAZ280 rubble shredder is a high-performance shredder with two counter-rotating shafts, specifically designed for processing mixed construction waste. However, it can also handle construction timber and dry waste without any problems. The shredder's two shafts exert an impressive force of approx. 210,000 Nm (Newton meters) on the material, resulting in effective size reduction. This machine is often referred to as a pre-shredder, as it prepares material for further processing.

Key features and functions improving performance and ease of use include:

- Overband magnet with variable discharge direction: Enables easy separation of metal parts from the shredded material.
- Hydraulically height-adjustable discharge conveyor: Can be adjusted up to a height of approx. 3.10 meters, allowing discharge of shredded material at a height of about 30 cubic meters.
- Hydraulic tilting hopper: Offers a loading volume of approx. 2.5 cubic meters and can be controlled via remote control.
- Quick-change system for shredder shafts: Shafts can be swapped quickly and easily as needed. They can also be welded and reused multiple times before final replacement is required.
- Large control panel: The operator panel provides comprehensive information about the machine and various digital adjustment options. There is also a manual panel with push-buttons for individual functions.
- GPS installation: The machine is equipped with GPS, allowing the manufacturer to remotely monitor, control, and adjust all machine data as needed, significantly reducing downtime.
- Hydraulically adjustable screen deck: The screen can be set to four levels to achieve the desired grain size. Settings may vary depending on the material.
- Adjustable shaft speeds: The shaft speeds can be set as needed—both fast, both slow, or one fast and one slow.
- Hand-built gearbox: The shredder’s gearbox is built by hand at the factory and delivers enormous torque of approx. 210,000 Nm.
- High-performance engine: The shredder is equipped with a Cummins B 6.7 Stage 5 engine with AdBlue. It produces approx. 280 HP at 2,000 rpm. Diesel consumption depends on use, typically ranging between 18 and 25 liters.
- Hydraulically adjustable screen deck: Allows four-step grain size adjustment, approx. values depending on material:
1. 0–60 mm
2. 0–70 mm
3. 0–90 mm
4. 0–125 mm

Only premium components—mainly Linde.
