Opis
For sale is an International COF-4070B Transtar II from 1980/81.
History: The vehicle was originally imported into Austria as a geophysical survey truck for work with ÖMV. After changing hands several times, it eventually came into my possession. Unfortunately, only the basic vehicle could be saved from the original configuration, hence the subsequent conversion. The truck has an original mileage of 41,000 miles.
Documentation: The vehicle is registered and classified as a “self-propelled work machine up to 90 km/h.” Registration is active, and the license plates are deposited. The technical inspection (Pickerl) is valid until 09/2026. The original manuals, a parts list, and the “line setting ticket” are included. The line setting ticket facilitates the ordering of matching spare parts from the USA and Canada.
Technical Details: The truck is powered by a Cummins NH series engine producing 230 hp, coupled with a Fuller RT-9509 transmission. Power is transferred from the main drive shaft to a Spicer reduction gearbox (which also houses the PTO) and subsequently to the two drive axles.
All technical systems are original and functional. However, due to the vehicle’s age, issues could arise at any time. Some minor jobs remain, such as servicing the cab tilting pump and the BrakeMaster unit (service parts provided).
Conversion: As mentioned, only the chassis remained salvageable after removal of the original superstructure. To maintain the vehicle’s character, the conversion was done in line with its new classification as a “work machine.” Please refer to the photos for details; they provide a comprehensive overview. For any questions, please email or call.
Miscellaneous: I am selling the vehicle as I feel I have enjoyed it long enough. While the restoration is not entirely complete (an original fifth wheel plate is still missing), significant progress has been made within my means. Personal reasons for selling exist but will not be detailed here.
The vehicle is sold with all equipment: lashing chains, tie-down straps, toolbox, marker boards, flags, wheel chocks, etc. The purchase price also includes various spare parts, service materials, original seats, filters, Bowden cables, cab marker lights, and essentially all accumulated items over the years—except for personal belongings.

The listed price is negotiable, but please refrain from “what is your last price” calls. Motorhome enthusiasts should note: this vehicle has leaf spring suspension and will destroy any melamine tableware. Test drives are possible if weather conditions permit, but only for those familiar with double clutching and rev-matching. As this is a used and vintage vehicle, all warranty, guarantee, return, and refund claims are excluded.
