Info 100 km/h unbraked:

The following applies: for unbraked trailers, if you want to use the trailer’s 100 km/h approval (where applicable), the empty weight of the towing vehicle must be at least 0.3 times the trailer’s permissible gross weight. This is the most unfavourable scenario. Accordingly, for a 750 kg trailer, the towing vehicle needs an unladen weight of at least 750 / 0.3 = 2500 kg.

If your towing vehicle is lighter, you can have the trailer derated (TÜV). For example, if your towing vehicle has an unladen weight of 1600 kg, the trailer must be derated to 1600 x 0.3 = 480 kg. You must then manage with the remaining payload, regardless of tow vehicle or speed.

The trailer’s permissible gross weight must not exceed the unbraked towing capacity (O2) entered in the vehicle registration document.

Note on LED:

With some car models, LED trailer lighting may not function properly. This occurs mostly with newer cars because of the low power consumption of LED technology. To ensure the lights on the trailer work properly, the towing vehicle or the towbar must be fitted with an additional module that supports LED lighting. Lorries does not supply this module with production trailers.
