VW T5 Wohnbox Eigenbau T5 4 motion

I am selling my VW T5 double cab with flatbed (4Motion, selectable rear differential lock, Seikel suspension and transmission) – equipped with a custom-built, self-sufficient camper box mounted on the load bed.

This is a well-designed, robust travel vehicle for two people. It is ready to drive immediately and also offers many possibilities for individual customization.

Base vehicle:
VW T5 2.5 TDI BNZ-AIX, 131 HP, 5-cylinder, 6-speed manual transmission.
First registration: 11/2006, currently 221,800 km. MOT (TÜV) will be renewed prior to sale.
Central locking, cruise control, onboard computer, manual air conditioning, Webasto auxiliary heater for the driver’s cab with an additional battery under the driver’s seat, retrofit rear-view camera, tow bar.

Special features:
Seikel gearbox with shorter ratio. Improved off-road capability thanks to slower driving speeds; also, the gear ratios are optimally tuned for mountain and alpine routes.
Seikel suspension lift, rear air suspension (Goldschmitt), upgraded to 3,490 kg gross vehicle weight.
6 mm aluminium underride protection.
Relleum snorkel (increased wading depth).
Two Relleum front recovery eyes.
All-terrain tires 235/70 R16 (registered with speedometer calibration) on alloy wheels, including spare wheel.
Large custom-made aluminium roof box above the driver’s cab.
Registration: Flatbed truck (LKW), optionally registered as a camper with the living box fitted. Currently classified as cargo within the loading deck walls.
The triple seat bench in the driver’s cab has been removed and replaced with a loading platform used to transport our e-bikes, accessories, and all camping equipment. The seat bench is still available and can be reinstalled at any time.
MOT (TÜV) will be renewed prior to sale.
The vehicle is still registered and available for test drives.

Camper box (self-built in 2022/23):
Robust timber frame with OSB/XPS paneling in a half-timbered design, exterior clad with Alu-Dibond, all edges protected by heavy-duty 2 mm aluminium angles. Roof is a fiberglass sandwich with a large skylight.
Interior paneling made of Swiss pine & natural felt (provides a pleasant indoor climate).
L-shaped double bed (lower: 195 × 70 cm, upper: 180 × 70 cm), composting toilet, sink (Boxio), portable gas stove, 1 small integrated cool box. An additional large cool box for the cab is also available.
Self-sufficient power system:
– 200 Ah LiFePo4 (Ective)
– 2000 W inverter
– 240 Wp solar panel
– 2 MPPT charge controllers from Victron
Water is supplied via flexible canisters.
Heating via 500 W electric heater.
The camper box can be removed and reinstalled using chain hoists on heavy-duty tie-down points.

Extensive accessories: awnings, cool box, etc. Various recovery equipment can be purchased additionally (subject to negotiation).

The T5 is well maintained, and since my purchase in February 2022, I have invested around €20,000 in upgrades and overhaul work (including clutch, engine overhaul incl. PDE bridge, turbocharger, and much more).
Materials alone for the camper box cost around €12,000, especially for the high-quality electrical setup.
